An exclusive dinner, and \ndrinks in front of the Mona Lisa <\/em>are part of the extraordinary minibreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The once-in-a-lifetime offer is being given to a pair of guests who \nwill get to spend the night of April 30 glamping in a pyramid-shaped \nbedroom beneath the real one at Paris\u2019s most famous museum. Guests will \ndine beside the Venus de Milo<\/em> as well get to enjoy the Mona Lisa<\/em>,\n all without any other visitors pushing past for a better selfie angle. \nAirbnb and the Louvre\u2019s partnership will continue with a series of \nevents that are due to be revealed in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The special offer is part of the Louvre\u2019s celebrations of the 30th \nbirthday of the pyramid entrance designed by the Chinese-American \narchitect I. M. Pei. Though deemed an eyesore by many in Paris at the \ntime, it quickly achieved iconic status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After drinks and dinner, the itinerary includes time to wind-down in \nNapoleon III\u2019s rococo salon before the guests retire to their sleeping \nquarters in a frosted glass miniature pyramid. The promotional video \nfeatures a young woman in pajamas jogging alone through the museum, \nwhich is not exactly what the museum has in mind\u2014guests will not have \nfree reign over the museum, but they will be getting a personal tour by \nan art historian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe know that many people would love the opportunity to wander alone \nat night through the Louvre and we want this to be a magical and \nunforgettable experience,\u201d says Anne-Laure B\u00e9atrix, the deputy managing \ndirector of the Mus\u00e9e du Louvre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Louvre has been stepping up its efforts to become more hip and happening. The street artist JR installed a massive trompe l\u2019oeil tribute to the museum at the weekend. He unveiled the giant ephemeral collage on Saturday. The museum\u2019s efforts to attract a wider audience seems to have worked especially well last year. It broke its attendance record in 2018, welcoming 10 million visitors.
